What does canceling a domain name mean? 

When you cancel a domain name, you let it expire. After the cancellation period, the domain becomes available again and anyone can register it. Others can then use it for their own website. So think carefully before you cancel your domain name permanently.

How to cancel your domain name

Follow these steps to cancel your domain name:

1. Go to My Account

2. Search for the domain name you want to cancel and click Manage.

   

3. On the right side, you will see the registration date, renewal date, and renewal costs. Click Cancel.

   

4. A pop-up will appear saying that your product will not be renewed and that you cannot undo the cancellation after the renewal date. Click Continue cancellation.
   
   

5. Your cancellation will be processed, and you will receive a confirmation email.

Undoing a cancellation

Do you want to keep your domain name after all? You can undo the cancellation:

1. Go to My Account.

2. Search for the domain name and click Manage.

   

3. On the right side, you will see the registration date, cancellation date, and renewal costs. Click Undo cancellation.
   
   

4. The cancellation will be reversed, and your domain name will remain active.
